The primary goal of the Social Studies department is to prepare our students to be good citizens of the U.S. and the world. A four year program is offered beginning with World Geography freshman year. Most students will take World History as sophomores and U.S. History as juniors. Elective courses include, American Government (year long) and Current Events, a semester course that may be taken for two semesters. Two Advance Placement courses in U.S. History and American Government are available to eligible students, as well as an honors U.S. History since 1945 offered as a semester course to seniors qualify. Three full credits, one in U.S. History is required for graduation.
