Summer Outside Reading Requirements

Students entering the following grade levels will be required to read at least one title from the selections listed below. At the beginning of the next school year, an objective and/or subjective examination will be administered to determine the student's familiarity with the work. If a student wishes, he may read more than one work from within the grade level requirements and have each additional work count toward the fulfillment of the outside reading requirement for that year.


Freshman English (All levels)

Sophomore English (non-Honors)

Suggested approach: Students should take notes on main characters and events for a quick review, particularly if they decide to complete their reading early.
