Students collect more than 600 items for "Shoe Drive for the Homeless"

Share a Pair of Shoes . . .for the homeless.

"Last year we had such tremendous success with our coat drive we decided to collect shoes for the homeless this year knowing there is great need," said Gerry Taulman, CBHS head of mission collections. We invited all the students and staff to bring gently worn footwear. Many brought clothing items as well. We collected a grand total of 305 pair of shoes (they are still arriving in my room). We received 325 miscellaneous items (slacks, shirts, coats, belts, sweaters, etc). The homeless will receive these through 'Room at the Inn' and the St. Mary's Church Clothes Closet."

Helping to collect shoes are (from left): Jonathan Forcherio, Andrew Scherson, Matt Stevens, Chase Abeln, Bryce Groeschell, Eduardo Coronado, Joe Mathews, and religion teacher Gerry Taulman.
